Insight Wellbeing Services: Carbon Reduction Plan (CPR)
Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
Insight Wellbeing Services is committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050, in line with the UK Government target. We recognise our responsibility to minimise environmental impact and embed sustainability within all aspects of our operations and service delivery.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline year: 2023
This represents our first year of structured carbon measurement since the formalisation of our sustainability policy.
Carbon Reduction Plan
| Emission Scope | Description | Tonnes CO₂e (Baseline Year) |
|---|---|---|
| Scope 1 | Direct emissions from owned vehicles | 2.1 |
| Scope 2 | Indirect emissions from purchased electricity (home offices) | 0.6 |
| Scope 3 | Other indirect emissions (business travel, staff commuting, digital use, purchased goods) | 3.8 |
| Total Baseline Emissions | 6.5 t CO₂e |
Note: Insight Wellbeing Services operates primarily remotely, so baseline emissions are proportionally low compared to similar education providers.
Current Emissions Reporting (2025)
| Emission Scope | Tonnes CO₂e |
|---|---|
| Scope 1 | 1.7 |
| Scope 2 | 0.5 |
| Scope 3 | 3.1 |
| Total Current Emissions | 5.3 t CO₂e |
This represents an estimated 18 % reduction compared with baseline, reflecting the introduction of electric vehicles and a localised delivery model.
Emissions Reduction Targets
Insight Wellbeing Services aims to achieve:
50% reduction by 2035 from the 2023–24 baseline.
Net Zero by 2050.
To achieve this, we will continue to embed carbon-conscious decision-making in procurement, travel, and digital infrastructure.
Projected targets:
| Year | Target Reduction (%) | Target t CO₂e |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 20% | 5.2 |
| 2030 | 35% | 4.2 |
| 2035 | 50% | 3.3 |
| 2050 | 100% (Net Zero) | 0.0 |
Carbon Reduction Measures
Since baseline year, the following measures have been implemented or are planned:
Operational Model
Remote-first operations: No fixed central office; staff work remotely, reducing commuting and building energy use.
Local delivery: Mentors and tutors are matched with young people within close proximity to minimise travel emissions.
Transport
Company vehicles are fully electric, powered via renewable energy where available.
Staff are encouraged to use public transport for management and training visits.
Travel policy prioritises virtual meetings wherever feasible.
Energy and Resources
Home-based staff supported to switch to green energy suppliers.
Energy-efficient laptops and devices issued to staff.
Digital-first communication policy to minimise paper and printing.
Procurement and Waste
Preference for suppliers with environmental credentials (e.g., ISO 14001 certification).
Recycling and responsible disposal of IT and learning materials.
Awareness and Training
Annual staff training on sustainability and carbon literacy.
Regular internal communications promoting environmentally responsible behaviour.
Monitoring and Governance
Carbon performance is monitored annually by the Operations & Compliance Manager, reported to senior management, and reviewed alongside financial and operational performance. Updates and progress are published in the annual organisational review.
Insight Wellbeing Services will continue to measure and report emissions in accordance with PPN 06/21 and the GHG Reporting Protocol – Corporate Standard, covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
